What a rugby enthusiast could turn down the proposition of sun, sea, grass and rugby in Spain<\/strong>\u00a0?
\nThe interchangeable nature of possession, leading to rapid changes from attacking to defending, means that the game involves developing and improving a wide range of skills. Cooperation, teamwork and a keen sense of fun are all key elements in Rugby Sevens.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0seven-a-side game<\/strong>\u00a0is a fast-moving, suitable for boys and girls of +18 y.o to play together, in which\u00a0tackles<\/strong> are allowed. The fun of the sport and vibrancy of the environment, means that Rugby Sevens has become one of the World Rugby’s favourite summer sports<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The game is fun, fast-paced and exciting !<\/p>\n

Players asking for it, we recently created a social Touch Rugby league<\/strong> open to all.<\/p>\n

\n

Competition Rugby Seven Rules<\/h2>\n

All the Rugby Seven Rules are from the official World Rugby rules (Tackles are allowed) with the following modifications :<\/p>\n

1.-\u00a0Teams<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

On the field will play a maximum of\u00a07 players<\/strong>\u00a0and the substitutes can come in the field at any moment of the match when there is a break or interruption during the game (penalty, scrum, lineout, injury time etc \u2026).<\/p>\n

There is no limit of substitution.<\/p>\n

2.-\u00a0Insurance<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

It is the responsibility of the Team Manager to make sure that all persons travelling with the team, whether playing in the games or not, is adequately insured for any injury or sickness that may occur during their stay in Catalu\u00f1a.<\/p>\n

Neither\u00a0the organizing Committee will not\u00a0be held liable for any costs incurred from any injury or sickness to any participants of the Festival.<\/p>\n

Team Managers will have to sign a document stating that all members of their group\u00a0are adequately insured for these purposes.<\/p>\n

3.-\u00a0Motto<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

In all the rugby categories the organisation director will be the only person responsible to start and finish matches. Once the Festival Director has sounded the final horn, the referee will allow play to continue until play stops.<\/p>\n

Then he will blow the final whistle.<\/p>\n

Captains will be responsible for the behaviour of their players.<\/p>\n

The organising committee is allowed to eject a team from the competition if that team is not behaving in a decent and proper manner on and off the pitch.<\/p>\n

4.-\u00a0Pitch<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Matches are played on a Rugby XV field.<\/p>\n

5.-\u00a0Rugby Kit<\/span>
\n<\/strong>All\u00a0players must wear correct\u00a0rugby kit with\u00a0rugby shorts, rugby shirt and\u00a0rugby socks.
\nPlaying with metal\/aluminium studs boots is totally forbidden on the fields.<\/strong><\/p>\n

6.-\u00a0Match Time<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The match will\u00a0last 14 minutes with 2 halfs of 7 minutes.
\nThe half-time will never last more than 1 minute.
\nThe referee can allow extratime if the game has been stopped for injuries or other\u00a0 incidents.<\/p>\n

7.-\u00a0Kick-Off<\/span>
\n<\/strong>
\nThe player who is kicking-off must drop-goal the ball.
\nThe opponents have to be at minimum 10 meters from the kicking point and the ball must pass through this 10 meters line.
\nIf the ball is passing the tryline directly or indirectly, a penalty will be awarded at the\u00a0halfway\u00a0line.
\nAfter a converted\u00a0try, the team who scored the try will\u00a0kick-off from the halfway line.<\/p>\n

8.-\u00a0Scrum<\/span>
\n<\/strong>
\nThe scrum is formed by 3 forwards, the hooker is linking the other 2 props putting his arms on their shoulders.
\nThe scrums won\u2019t be pushed in the veteran category.<\/p>\n

9.-\u00a0Lineout<\/span>
\n<\/strong>
\nEach lineout is formed by the thrower, 2 forwards and the scrumhalf.
\nThe scrumhalf can jump in the lineout or can help to jump.<\/p>\n

10.-\u00a0Ruck<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

After tackling, when a maul or a player is going to the floor, the ball has to be released immediately.
\nThe referee will be very strict with this rule.
\nA penalty will be awarded if the ball is not released.
\nIf\u00a0 there is a confusing ruck without any clear ball possession, a scrum will be\u00a0awarded in favour of the defending team.<\/p>\n

11.-\u00a0Kick<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The kick is allowed in all the pitch.
\nIf the ball goes out directly from the field, a penalty where the ball was kicked will be given in favour of the other team.
\nYou can convert a try only drop-goaling the ball.<\/p>\n

12.-\u00a0Off-side<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The off-side line will be located at a minimum of 10 meters in any stopped ball situation.<\/p>\n

13.-\u00a0Penalty<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The penalty can be kicked. <\/p>\n

14.-\u00a0Faults<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

A player receiving a yellow card must leave the pitch\u00a0and won\u2019t be allowed to play the rest of that game.
\nThey will be\u00a0allowed to play in other games.
\nAfter 2 minutes of sanction, the team will be allowed to substitute that faulted player with a new player.
\nA player receiving a red card will be sent off from the tournament untill the end of the competition.<\/p>\n

They will not be able to play in any more matches.<\/p>\n

15.-\u00a0Draw<\/span>
\n<\/strong>
\nIn the case of a tie in the league, the teams will be separated by the\u00a0number of<\/strong>\u00a0victories<\/strong>\u00a0and then, the\u00a0number of tries scored<\/strong>.
\nIn Quarter finals, Semi finals and Final, at the end of full time, if the scores are tied, we will\u00a0go to the\u00a0penalty situation <\/strong><\/span>to choose a winner:<\/p>\n

a. Series of\u00a03 one on one penalties<\/strong>\u00a0with\u00a0attacker\u00a0<\/strong>against\u00a0defender<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The aim is for the attacker to score a try and for the defender to prevent a try.
\nThe team who scores the most tries after 3 attempts is the winner.
\nThe attacker will start from halfway line and the defender from the try line.
\nOnce the attacker is tackled and one of his knees or his body touches the sand, the attack is finished with no try.
\nThe attacking team will then switch to the defending team.
\nThe captains must choose 3 attackers and 3 defenders from their teams.<\/p>\n

A player can only attack or defend, not both during the 3 penalties.<\/strong><\/p>\n

b. After 3 penalties, if the score is a draw, we will go to\u00a0sudden death<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

16.-\u00a0Points<\/span>
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n
